English week was celebrated at PAKTURK international Schools and Colleges Islamabad with zeal and zest. The theme of this week was English with fun. English faculty members arranged different activities including, Debates, Spelling Bee, Poster making, story writing and English songs.
The Celebration of English week started from Monday the 25th October and finished with a colourful prize distribution ceremony on 29th October 2010.

Story Writing Competition
PAKTURK English Department invited students to share their experiences. To help them start writing, the students were given list of following prompts.
My English class is…
The best class ever was …
My favourite English teacher is …
The funniest thing happened in class one day …
My classmates …
Learning English is …
That dream was really …….
The length of your story was to be between 250 to 500 words. Total 67 students sent their entries which were evaluated by the jury comprising English faculty members. Most of the students chose “ That dream was really............” and wrote wonderful stories.
The students were divided into two categories. According to the results, Ismail Jamil from F.Sc-I (A) got 1st position in senior category. 2nd Prize was won by Basharat Hussain from F.Sc-I and Arsalan Mumtaz from 2nd year got third prize. In Junior category, 1st position was awarded to Ahmed Ali from Class 8th O Level, 2nd prize was won by Ahmed Ali Khan of Class 7th A and third prize went to farrukh Mustafa from 8th O Level.
Poster Making Contest
PAKTURK English Department organized, Poster making competition during English Week from 25th Oct to 31st October.
The students were asked to make a poster which must represent the importance of learning English Language in modern age. The students from all the classes participated in this contest and prepared colourful posters.
According to the results 8th Matric student Rafay Rahman got 1st prize for his poster “Let speak one language, let there be peace”. 2nd prize was given to s.Hasan Mumtaz from 8th O Levels for his poster name ‘Spelling Bee”. The students were given prizes during prize distribution ceremony on Friday.
SPELLING BEE CONTEST
The students of Class 7th a and 7th B showed their talent as they entered the Spelling Bee contest. The words for this competition were taken from their text books of General Science, Social Studies, Islamiat and English. The students were well prepared as the competition proved to be a nail biting contest.
According to the result, Ahmed Ali Khan of 7th A got the crown of spelling Bee Champin for the year 2010. Zaeem Zia of 7th B remained runners-up for the competition.
Debate Competition
PakTurk English Department arranged a Debate Competition in the School auditorium on Friday the 29th October 2010. Maximum duration of speech was to be 4 minutes

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY
A colourful prize distribution ceremony was arranged in the auditorium of PAKTURK International Islamabad on Friday the 29th October 2010. The principal Mr. Ebubekir HASPOLAT distributed the prizes among the successful students.
The students from Middle, Secondary, Higher Secondary and Cambridge section attended the program. While addressing the audience, Principal Mr. Ebubekir HASPOLAT congratulated the participants for their efforts. He expressed his hope that the students will take active part in the co-curricular activities in future too.
The principal also congratulated English Department for their ll out efforts to make this week a memorable time. He expressed his happiness and said,” During the week the classes and corridors of the school kept echoing with the English Language activities."
