English week was
celebrated at PakTurk Boys Campus Clifton Karachi from Aug 26, 2013 to Sep 02,
2013. All the students participated with spirit and enthusiasm. The teachers of
English department came up with different activities and fun for the students.
Students enjoyed all the activities which were presented during the week.
First day started with
the recitation of Holy Quran with translation in English and an excellent
speech was delivered by one of the students on the topic “Are We One?”.
Different activities were organized during the morning assembly such as on the
first day there were quizzes where the students of different classes were asked
different questions and the boys with correct answers were awarded with prizes.
Some other activities were also arranged like riddles, tongue twisters, jokes,
questions related to their course books and English reading, synonyms and
antonyms, puzzle games, cross words, vocabulary and many more.
On the second day a
beautiful speech was delivered by a student on “independence day”.
Different activities were organized by the teachers of English
department during breaks. Third day began in an excellent way. All the students
gathered in the conference hall. Many boys were excited to participate in
different competitions especially this was the day for that students had been
waiting. A grand “Spelling Bee Competition” was held on this day. Other
activities such as chart competition and essay writing were also done in the
classes.
The final day was
started with a speech delivered by a student about the “Defense Day” the memory
of 6th September 1965. A speech competition was also held. The theme
of the competition was patriotism “Are We One?”.
While sharing their
thoughts about the “English week”, students expressed their satisfaction over
the standard of all the activities and competitions which were organized during
this week. On 2nd Sep, 2013 the prize distribution ceremony was held
in the morning assembly. Respected principal, vice principals and teachers
distributed the prizes among those students who got 1st, 2nd and
3rd positions. All the activities, new ideas and fun were appreciated by
the principal and he encouraged the teachers and students for celebrating
English Week with the same spirit next year.
