English week was celebrated at PakTurk Boys Campus Quetta from May 27-31, 2013. All the students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The teachers of English department brought new ideas and fun for the students. Students enjoyed all the activities which were presented during the week.
First day started with the recitation of Holy Quran with translation in English and an excellent speech was delivered by one of the students on the life of William Shakespeare. Different activities were organized during the breaks such as in the first break there were Quizzes where the students of different classes were asked different questions and the boys with correct answers were awarded with prizes. Some other activities were also arranged like riddles, tongue twisters, jokes, questions related to their course books and English Reading, Synonyms and Antonyms, Puzzle games, cross words, vocabulary and many more. During English classes creative writing activities were also arranged in every class. Students were assigned different Topics to write about.
On the second day a beautiful speech was delivered by a student on “Youme Takbeer”. Different activities were organized by the teachers of English department during breaks. A singing competition was arranged in which many students participated and sang different English songs in their melodious Voices.
On the third day there was “Debate Contest” in which different topics were assigned according to the level of the students and at the end of the contest three position holders were announced.
Beginning of the fourth day was marvelous. Many boys were eager to participate in different activities especially this was the day for that students had been waiting. A splendid “Spelling Bee Competition” was held on this day. From each class a group of three students participated to face the music. They were asked different words to spell out. The winner of this contest was 7th C class. And 2nd Position was taken by the students of 7th A.
The final day was started with a speech delivered by a student about the “Earthquake in Quetta on 31st May, 1935”. On this day final “Singing Competition” and “Naat competition” was organized.
While sharing their thoughts about the “English Week”, students expressed their satisfaction over the standard of all the activities and competitions which were organized during this week.
Next day was the prize distribution day. Respected principal, vice principal and teachers of English department distributed the prizes among those students who got 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. Respected Principal appreciated the activities arranged by English Department and hoped for organizing such activities in future as well.
